The Mishing weaver of Gorajan Adarsh village sold over Rs 11 lakh Gamosa in a year, also a traditional dress worth over Rs 3 lakh. The weavers of The Titabar have been in the weaver’s loom for many years.

The village of Gorajan Mishing is a very beautiful village situated in the Assam-Nagaland border area of Titabar subdivision. Living in a farming family, this village now literally starts their mornings with the sound of the weaver’s looms.

The hardworking women who once sold their food from the Nagaland Hills and had a painful life have brought hope to the Assam Nagaland border region with a combined effort to make the textile industry their living.

It has made over 11 lakh rupees by selling only the gamosa.A total of 85 houses in the village have two or more tatsals in the family. A total of 135 weavers from neighbouring 11 blocks, 12 blocks and 13 block villages along with Mishing village. They are constantly busy with the event of the small industry. Of these, 80 are weavers.

While the village event has brought challenges and threats to the village market in the looms of Assam, the village event has been selling large quantities of gamosa in a large shop called Shyam Store-5 in Kasuri Lane in Jaipur.

The coordinator said the weavers have also been selling together to make them independent. They have been displaying and selling their products in various states including New Delhi.

They also participated in the National Fair of The Pragati Maiden in Delhi and came second position in the sales.

Women who had been selling from The Naga Hill to Gorajan in the east have now been able to make thousands of rupees a month lying in connection with this textile industry.

In a serious effort, the village of Gorajan Mishing has now become a tourism village in the textile industry. Many people from far away also come to this village and receive hospitality and purchase the public dress according to their own preferences as well as entrepreneurs of various meetings.

All of them have also been buying the demanded gamosa and other handmade textiles from here.
